My Approach & Philosophy
As a clinician my approach is person-centered, focusing on strengths, intersecting identities, and lived experiences. I partner with clients as they develop strategies promoting mindfulness and building confidence, distress tolerance, relationship effectiveness, and emotional regulation. I build therapeutic relationships based on respect, unconditional positive regard, curiosity, and a touch of humor.
Person-centered therapy offers a compassionate and client-focused approach to personal growth and healing. Its principles emphasize the importance of empathy, authenticity, and creating a safe environment for self-exploration.
My curiosity, sense of humor and creativity show up in my daily life through my love of board games, video games, listening to music, puzzles and crosswords. I have two high energy and very sweet pups that also keep me busy and get me outside. I grew up in Minneapolis, MN, started to build my adult life in Fairbanks, AK and now call the Puget Sound home.
